Abstract: This text is a collection of excerpts and analyses that expand and complement the analyses in the research article “Managing exactness and vagueness in computer science work: A conceptualization of pro­gramming and analysis of self-repair in meetings”, to be published in Social Studies of Science. Section 1 compares the collective writing of computer code with the collective writing of natural language text, while section 2 and 3 complement the analyses of self-repair and hedges in the main article.
