Abstract: This article describes some practical extensions to Daganzo's Cell Transmission Model. Flow calculations for straight, merge, and diverge cells are subsumed in a single computation scheme which allows for arbitrary cell connectivity. Since it is planned to apply the resulting model in a mathematical programming based traffic monitoring system, approximate sensitivities are also provided.
