Atlas of Absence - Research Data

Savoy, Bénédicte; Sprute, Sebastian

TO NAVIGATE THE COLLECTIONS BY LOCATION AND MUSEUM ON OUR WEBSITE, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LINK: https://www.tu.berlin/en/go246895/ On this page you can access the research datasets of the project "Reverse History of collections. Art and culture from Cameroon in German museums" - a cooperation between the Université de Dschang and the Technische Universität Berlin. This project was carried out from 2020 to 2023 under the direction of Professor Albert Gouaffo and Professor Bénédicte Savoy and funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) (SA 1829/14-1). The collection and editing of research data was supervised by Dr Sebastian-Manès Sprute in close cooperation with the involved museums. In line with the DFG guidelines, the 2019 "Heidelberg Position" and the "’3-road-strategy' on the documentation and digital publication of collections from colonial contexts held in Germany" (2020), this data repository is intended to help promote future research projects and support further work on the extensive collections. The datasets deposited here also complement the project publication "Atlas der Abwesenheit. Cameroon's Cultural Heritage in Germany", for whose analyses, maps, infographics and statistical evaluations they form the database. The project publication is available in open access and can be accessed via the following link: https://doi.org/10.11588/arthistoricum.1219 The rights of use of 'DepositOnce', the institutional research database of the Technical University of Berlin, apply (see e.g. https://depositonce.tu-berlin.de/info/depositonce-policy). Contact: Mr. Eyke Vonderau, research coordinator, vonderau@tu-berlin.de The repository is continuously updated and currently (as of 6/2023) contains the following data sets: A.
